Varsity Basketball games against Benton Harbor have been rescheduled. Both games will be played on Saturday, January 14th. Games will begin at 1:00pm with girls varsity, boys varsity game will follow (at approximately 3:00pm).

Your Lady Giants basketball team faced No. 3 in Class B St. Joseph. The young, but developing Giants, forced the highly experienced Bears into 21 turnovers. Seniors Ar’Chay Alexander-Green and Kandice Johnson lead the now 1-1 Giants with 10 and nine points respectively while Dominique Robinson and Aneisha Carlisle added seven each.

Volleyball Senior Night – a killer success!

In the final home game of their high school careers, this year’s eight seniors were set to put on a show.

Battle Creek Central was the opponent, and your Lady Giants ran away with the game. From the first serve to the final kill, it was a dominating performance. As a team the Giants had a .35 hitting average. Much like a batting average in baseball this is obtained by taking the team’s kills minus the teams errors and dividing by the attempts. Basically, all this math talk means that the Giants hitting was solid, effective and exciting.

With decisive wins in game one and two, game three was played with an all senior line up. Continuing the trend of games one and two the Ladies finished off the night right. The final point was won with one of the team’s eight service aces of the night.

Congratulations to all our seniors and good luck at Conference!!

Volleyball Team Gets Ready for Conference Tournament

In their final tournament before the Conference tournament the Varsity Volleyball Team played some of its toughest competition of the season. West Ottawa High School was the host to a 21 team tournament which included teams such as Portage Central, Plainwell, Fenton and Grand Ledge, all known volleyball powerhouses. The ladies finished 2-1 in pool play with wins over Oxford and Fremont.

The ladies lost a close match to T.C. Central. Their record and win percentage placed the ladies in the Gold Bracket, facing T.C. West for their semi-final match. The Giants fought hard, but were unable to come up with the win.

Your Lady Giants play their final home match on Wednesday the 26th at 7:00 p.m. Our eight graduating seniors will be honored prior to the game.
