Maroons In The Morning, Jan. 10th .2!

The JV Wrestling team competed at Gull Lake on Saturday and came home with 4 first places finishes and 2 second places. First places went to: Javious Cunningham, Ghazi Farwana, Jesus Vargus and Nate Barbosa. Seconds went to Alonzo Littlejohn and Chris Seybert.

KC Freshman Men’s Basketball Team remains undefeated…

Kalamazoo Central’s Freshman boy’s basketball team jumped out to an early lead and never looked back defeating Mattawan 62-23.   Coach Stuckey praised the team as a whole for it’s tenacious defensive play.  Key performers in the Mattawan game were Marc Hairston, Marquevion Peake and Jared Coleman who lead the team with 10 pts each.  Next

Adam Provencal Invitational at Grand Haven- Six Wrestlers Earn Medals

David Markowicz (103) and Shane Kelly (152) went undefeated on the day earning first place finishes.  The other wrestlers earning medals are: Evan Stivers (112) 4th;  Luis Rodriguez (125) 4th;  Will Royster (171) 2nd; Yazeem Shammout (189) 3rd.  The team finished 5th with ten teams participating in the tournament.

F/JV Men’s Basketball Team Home Openers @ K-Central

The Kalamazoo Central Men’s F/JV Basketball team’s will have their first two home games on Thursday, Jan 6th vs Mattawan and Thursday, Jan 13th vs Portage Northern.  The Freshman game will begin at 4:15 PM  and Junior Varsity will play at 5:30 PM.  Come out and support  F/JV Men’s basketball as they continue to establish a tradition of

K-CENTRAL GIANT Athletic teams had a GREAT night last night with two spectacular defeats!  Kalamazoo United Hockey defeated the Portage Central Mustangs 2-1 at the Annex! It was a tie-game with just seconds left in the third period when United turned a power-play opportunity into a 2-1 victory! Way to go United Hockey! In Wrestling

JV team shows dominance over Portage Central and remains undefeated at 2-0

The JV team scored another impressive victory against Portage Central winning  78-59.   Freshman Davarius Williams led the team in scoring with 16 pts, Jamaal Conger had 15 pts and Teris Buchanan, whose biggest contribution was on defense (8 steals) had 11 pts.  Notable performances were also had by Jalen McPherson (7 pts) and Darrion Mullen (8pts)

The wrestling team worked their way to the championship round by defeating Berrien Springs (62-9), Lakeshore B (57-24), Hopkins (37-28) and White Pigeon (52-24).  The team lost in the championship round to a very good Fairfield High School Team from Indiana.  Three wrestlers went 5-0 for the day; Luis Rodriquez, Shane Kelly and Will Royster.
