Freshman Basketball team defeats Rockford

On December 18, 2010, the Freshman Basketball team defeated Rockford 64-45.  Marc Hairston led the team in scoring with 24 pts which included three 3-point shots.  Rasaun Brown stepped up as the “big man in the middle” to pour in 16 pts and record his first game scoring in double digits.  Notable scoring performances were Markie

Freshman Basketball Team overwhelms the Bearcats.

The Freshman Basketball team made quick work of  the Battle Creek Central Bearcats on January 3rd, defeating them 60-31.  The team showed a balanced defensive performance and scoring attack, led by Marc Hairston with 11 pts, Markie Peake with 10 pts,  Nader Ayad and Rasaun Brown with 9 pts each and Lyndon Austell with 8 pts.

KC Freshman Men’s Basketball Team remains undefeated…

Kalamazoo Central’s Freshman boy’s basketball team jumped out to an early lead and never looked back defeating Mattawan 62-23.   Coach Stuckey praised the team as a whole for it’s tenacious defensive play.  Key performers in the Mattawan game were Marc Hairston, Marquevion Peake and Jared Coleman who lead the team with 10 pts each.  Next

F/JV Men’s Basketball Team Home Openers @ K-Central

The Kalamazoo Central Men’s F/JV Basketball team’s will have their first two home games on Thursday, Jan 6th vs Mattawan and Thursday, Jan 13th vs Portage Northern.  The Freshman game will begin at 4:15 PM  and Junior Varsity will play at 5:30 PM.  Come out and support  F/JV Men’s basketball as they continue to establish a tradition of

JV team shows dominance over Portage Central and remains undefeated at 2-0

The JV team scored another impressive victory against Portage Central winning  78-59.   Freshman Davarius Williams led the team in scoring with 16 pts, Jamaal Conger had 15 pts and Teris Buchanan, whose biggest contribution was on defense (8 steals) had 11 pts.  Notable performances were also had by Jalen McPherson (7 pts) and Darrion Mullen (8pts)

JV Boy’s Basketball team dominates in game against Lakeshore

The JV Boys basketball team dominated in all phases of the Dec. 7th game defeating Lakeshore 82-67.  Key performances were by Jamaal Conger with 20 pts which includes four 3 pt. shots, and  Teris Buchanan with 14 pts.  Honorable mention goes to both Darrion Mullen with 14 pts, and Freshman Davarius Williams scoring 9 pts in

The Maroon Giants are off to a great start this season winning all three contests (F/JV/Varsity) against Lakeshore in Stevensville.  The Freshman team got off to a slow start but quickly shook off their first game jitters to outlast Lakeshore  62-58.  The whole team showed good discipline down the stretch.  Key performances were made by
